Botulinum Toxin
Botox®, Dysport®, Relfydess® and Xeomin®
Botulinum Toxin
Botox®, Dysport®, Relfydess® and Xeomin® are injectable medications used to temporarily soften facial lines and wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movement. All four are forms of Botulinum Toxin Type A and work by temporarily reducing the activity of targeted muscles.
I stock all four options – Botox®, Dysport®, Relfydess® and Xeomin®. Each has its own characteristics and benefits, and different products can work better for different people. Having a choice allows us to select the product best suited to you, your treatment area and the result you’re looking to achieve.

Benefits of Botulinum Toxin
Do you want to soften frown lines, forehead lines or crow’s feet?
Botulinum Toxin treatments can temporarily relax the muscles responsible for creating these lines, resulting in a softer, fresher appearance.
My goal is to enhance your natural beauty while keeping you looking like you – just a more refreshed version.
Using Botulinum Toxin for facial enhancement requires a good understanding of facial muscle structure, form and function. This allows me to carefully tailor your treatment to achieve the look you are after while keeping your results beautiful and natural.
Dysport® vs Botox® vs Relfydess® vs Xeomin® – what’s the difference?
Botox®, Dysport®, Relfydess® and Xeomin® are all Botulinum Toxin Type A products that temporarily reduce muscle contraction.
Although they work in a similar way, there are differences between the products, including their formulations, units, onset of action and duration of effect.
I find people often develop a personal preference for a particular product based on their previous experience, how quickly they notice their results and how the treatment works for them.
I like to offer all four options so we have a choice. During your consultation, I can recommend which product I believe is best suited to your facial anatomy, treatment area, medical history and aesthetic goals.
What is Botox®?
Botox® contains onabotulinumtoxinA and is the best-known and longest-established Botulinum Toxin brand. It is widely used to soften expression lines and achieve natural-looking results. Results generally begin to appear within a few days, with effects typically lasting around 3–4 months.
What is Dysport®?
Dysport® contains abobotulinumtoxinA. It has slightly different characteristics to other Botulinum Toxin brands, including how it spreads within the treatment area, making it particularly well suited to some people and treatment areas. Results can begin to appear within a few days, with effects typically lasting around 3–4 months.
What is Relfydess®?
Relfydess® contains relabotulinumtoxinA and is the newest Botulinum Toxin option at Appearance Matters. It comes ready-to-use, with results that may be noticeable from as early as day one and can last up to six months.
What is Xeomin®?
Xeomin® contains incobotulinumtoxinA and has a highly purified formulation without the accessory proteins found in some other Botulinum Toxin products. It can be an excellent option depending on your treatment history and individual response. Results generally begin to appear within 2–3 days, with effects lasting up to 4 months.
Which Botulinum Toxin is best for me?
There isn’t one Botulinum Toxin brand that is best for everyone. This is exactly why I choose to offer Botox®, Dysport®, Relfydess® and Xeomin®.
Each product has different characteristics, and everyone responds slightly differently. Having all four available means I can recommend the product I believe is best suited to you – taking into account your facial anatomy, treatment area, previous experience, desired result and budget.
What is a Botulinum Toxin injection?
Botox®, Dysport®, Relfydess® and Xeomin® contain different formulations of Botulinum Toxin Type A. They work by temporarily inhibiting nerve signals to the muscles in which they are injected, reducing muscle contraction.
When these muscles contract less, the overlying skin creases less and facial lines become softer. With regular treatment over time, deeper expression lines may also become less noticeable.
The different brands are not interchangeable unit-for-unit, which is another reason why your treatment and dose need to be individually prescribed.
What is involved in treatment?
Treatment is straightforward and quick. A full consultation is provided beforehand, where we will discuss your areas of concern, desired results, budget and which product is best suited to you.
I will then prescribe the appropriate product and dose for the outcome we are trying to achieve and explain the cost before treatment.
A very small amount of product is injected using a tiny needle into the targeted muscles. The actual treatment normally takes only a few minutes. Discomfort is generally minimal and no pain relief is usually required, although I can provide an ice pack if you are concerned.
After treatment, you can generally carry on with your day as normal with little to no downtime.
How much do Botulinum Toxin injections cost?
I have added my current prices to my website. You can view them on my price list page. I can guarantee that my prices are competitive and fair given my experience.
